Keen and Improved Critical

I don`t have any strong feelings about this subject, but here are my thoughts:
The rules for threat-range seem a bit odd to me to begin with because of the doubling-rule. Most other rules give +1, +2, -1 or -2 and so on. Feats, spells or magic-weapon abilities that increased the threat range by 1 or 2 would be easier to deal with.
