Couldn`t find where we noted the new skill points system, but it should be in this part of the forum.

I think the rule is good and that we should keep it, but we need to do something to make INT a better ability and harder to dump. I have been thinking in the lines of the DM adding more INT-checks to see if we understand what is going on, both in exploring and fighting-situations. This could give smart characters some good hints in the heat of battle for instance, and make a dumb character make some not so smart moves.

What do you think?

We have a skill system where you recieve skill points based on what ability the skills you pick is linked to, and not only to what Int you have.
Logical, but makes Int a first choice for dumping to anyone other than wizards.

My suggestion is for PCs to play like our DM playes monster Int in encounters.
For instance; a dragon we fought recently used scaringly smart tactics, but zombies walked mindlessly into AoOs.

The DM could give characters with high Int usefull hints and refuse that players with low Int execute brilliant moves.

Good idea! :)

Anyway, I'm not that worried about INT being weakened as an ability... You still need INT for skill checks, ability checks, languages, Combat Expertise (and Improved Disarm, Improved Feint, Improved Trip, Whirlwind attack).
